Newcastle International Airport has launched its striking Aster & Thyme restaurant and bar as part of its £20m refurbishment project. Developed in collaboration with travel food and beverage specialist SSP, the venue replaces the original Cabin Bar and boasts a 130% increase in size. Aster & Thyme offers travellers a premium experience with fantastic views of the airfield through floor-to-ceiling windows. The restaurant features a botanical-themed interior with marble and brass finishes, catering for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks, all of which “celebrate the best of local produce.” Waitstaff at Aster & Thyme are committed to providing a world-class experience for passengers and encourage guests to relax before their flight.
Dean Ward, Director of Commercial at Newcastle International Airport, stated, “Aster & Thyme embodies our commitment to provide passengers with a world-class travel experience.” Cathy Granby, Business Development Director UK & Ireland at SSP, added, “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Newcastle travellers to our wonderful new bar, and we’re certain that travellers to and from this outstanding city will really love this elegant new venue.” This significant development will provide at least 20 new job opportunities and is due to be completed ahead of the busiest summer season. In collaboration with SSP, Newcastle International Airport is committed to the comfort and satisfaction of its passengers.
