Scotland-based Wonderworld Soft Play, a renowned name in the family entertainment industry, is celebrating its 10th anniversary by reflecting on its impressive journey of growth and expansion. The brand, which initially started with a single location, has today become a group with various entertainment brands. Wonderworld Group, the organization’s parent company, now operates various sites across Scotland like East Kilbride, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Glasgow, Kirkcaldy, and Perth, attracting hundreds of thousands of families every year. The Group has also been quite successful in introducing innovative experiences like Air Thrill and Electric Thrill, which have helped boost growth.
Air Thrill, in particular, has had remarkable success and expanded from two to five sites alone over the last three years, providing inflatable and trampoline parks for older children. With its headquarters in Scotland, Wonderworld Group’s employee count has grown to over 400, making it Scotland’s largest soft play entertainment provider. Over the past decade, Wonderworld has had more than 4 million visitors, a testament to its commitment to providing safe, entertaining, and enjoyable experiences.
Apart from its current achievements, the Group has shown a promising future. The project financial year’s revenue is expected to exceed £13m, with EBITDA projected to be around £2.2m. The Group’s Managing Director, Narinder Singh Baryah, who has been at the company’s helm for two years, is excited about its future plans and growth prospects. He stated, “We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and our teams will continue to create joyful memories for families while navigating the exciting, challenging, and ultimately rewarding journey of running a business which isn’t all child’s play.”
Baryah also revealed that the Group has two to three years of expansion plans in England, representing an exciting step forward. In conclusion, Wonderworld’s journey highlights that a core mission of providing safe, exciting, and memorable experiences for families can contribute to significant growth, expansion, and success in the leisure and family entertainment business.
