The United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association, based in Chesterfield, has appointed Ali Rees (Evans) to its Board of Directors. In her new role, Ali will utilize her expertise in business, HR, organizational development, and performance management to support UKATA and uphold its position as a leading trade association. Expressing her gratitude for the opportunity, Ali stated, “I am very much looking forward to working with them in our collective aim of ensuring effective management of asbestos in the UK through positive training solutions.” UKATA COO Craig Evans commented, “Ali has always been very supportive of UKATA, and we very much look forward to working with her more closely.”
With 22 years of experience as a learning and development professional, Ali has gained valuable insight into ensuring effective learning interventions and providing a valuable return on investment. In her previous role in local authority, she delivered asbestos training and created a pool of resources to assist with duty holder responsibilities for a portfolio of 600 premises and 100 housing stock. The Board comprises elected individuals from the association’s membership, whose role is to provide strategic direction and governance. UKATA Directors are tasked with understanding the association’s operating environment and leading it in fulfilling its purpose effectively with the available resources.
Ali’s strong dedication to keeping individuals safe stems from personal experience of losing a family member and work colleague to mesothelioma.
