Maguire Family Law, a leading firm specializing in divorce, family law, child abduction, and high net worth cases, has opened a fourth office located on Brown Street in Manchester city centre. This expansion is in response to the growing demand for its services. The firm has experienced strong and sustainable growth since its establishment in 2010 and is continuously expanding with its existing offices in Altrincham, Knutsford, and Wilmslow.
James Maguire, the founding director, believes that the increasing awareness around traits of narcissists and coercive control legislation, coupled with the constant stream of social media content depicting idealistic views of marriage, have significantly impacted the current surge in demand. He says, “We’ve been growing organically since our launch in 2010, but the past 18 months have seen a notable surge in demand from both UK and overseas clients. What we initially thought might be an isolated spike in enquiries has become a sustained trend.”
He emphasized that social media has played a key role in people’s decision to divorce. The picture-perfect images portrayed online have led individuals to believe that marriage will be just like that, and when faced with the reality of a less-than-perfect relationship, they become disillusioned and eventually decide to end their marriage. The awareness about narcissism and coercive control has also legitimized people’s reasons for ending a marriage.
Although divorce cases prompted the opening of the latest office, Maguire states that the demand for other services has also increased significantly. The firm isn’t ruling out the possibility of opening additional offices in the region for potential growth.
