Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates, the aggregate manufacturers, have recently completed the acquisition of the Resin Surfacing operations in Stalbridge, Dorset from Geveko Markings. With this strategic move, Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates now stands as the sole manufacturer of resin and aggregate within the entirety of the UK.
This comprehensive acquisition encompasses the procurement of all manufacturing plants, products, and equipment. Furthermore, the skilled employees associated with the Resin Surfacing operations will be retained by the company, further enhancing their expertise and capabilities.
Sam Buckley, the Managing Director of Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates, expressed his satisfaction with this acquisition, stating, “This acquisition perfectly aligns with our commitment to deliver the utmost quality resin and aggregate to the resin bound market in the UK. We are thrilled to continue supplying the exceptional products that were previously provided by Geveko, ensuring our customers can continue to rely on BBA approved products as usual.”
Martin Poulter, the CEO and founder of Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates, shared his delight at this significant strategic acquisition, stating, “As the manufacturer of DALTEX, the top brand for resin bound solutions in the UK, we are pleased to announce this milestone in our plans for future growth within the UK and international resin bound market.”
André Thomsen, the CEO of Geveko Markings Group, explained the decision behind this strategic move, saying, “After an extensive strategic review, we concluded that the decorative resin surfacing market is not aligned with our business strategy. The integration of our dedicated team and esteemed customers into Derbyshire Aggregates heralds a promising chapter for all parties involved.”
In addition to their existing facilities, the new site will add to Derbyshire Specialist Aggregates’ seven current locations throughout the UK. These encompass their Head Office and main production facility in Derbyshire, the Daltex Central Hub in Ashbourne, the DALTEX Trade Centres in Brighouse and Bridgend, as well as a slate plant in Bangor, North Wales. Additionally, these sites are supported by two substantial dock facilities in Mersey Wharf and Goole.
