Birmingham-based chocolate company Russell & Atwell, which secured investment from Steven Bartlett and Peter Jones on BBC1’s Dragons’ Den, is using The Food WorksSW’s commercial kitchen in Weston-super-Mare to test new flavors and create small batches of fresh chocolates. Steve Russell, one of the company’s founders, praised the kitchen’s ideal conditions for producing microscopic batches. The Food WorksSW, the only center of its kind in the southwest, offers five flexible short-term contract kitchens and technical support packages for food and drink businesses of all scales. Zoe Plant, The Food WorksSW’s New Product Development and Innovation Manager, said she was excited to welcome Russell & Atwell and sample their confectionery creations.
