Tritax Symmetry has unveiled plans for a new National Distribution Centre for Greggs plc at Symmetry Park, Kettering. The proposed facility will span 311,551 sq ft of logistics space on a 25.1-acre site. It will be built to a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standard, ensuring an EPC A rating and compliance with Net Zero Carbon in Construction regulations.
As part of Greggs’ strategic growth strategy outlined in 2021, the company aims to significantly expand its supply chain capacity to meet ambitious growth targets. Currently operating 2,500 stores, Greggs plans to increase its UK estate to well over 3,000 shops. This investment will enhance its ability to provide ambient and chilled products directly to an expanding network of stores.
Tritax Symmetry is also pursuing permission for an additional 100,000 sq ft of space to facilitate further expansion for Greggs. This center will play a crucial role in Symmetry Park, Kettering, which encompasses a total of 136 acres and boasts outline planning permission for a total of 2,310,000 sq ft of logistics space.
Pending approval, Greggs anticipates the National Distribution Centre at Symmetry Park, Kettering, to be operational by the first half of 2027. BNP, Cushman and Wakefield, and DTRE are representing Tritax Symmetry, while Wright Silverwood is representing Greggs in this endeavor.
