Heather Mills has successfully acquired the assets of her plant-based business VBites, finalizing a £1m rescue deal with administrators. VBites, a manufacturer and wholesaler of plant-based meat and cheese, fell into administration in December, facing significant cashflow challenges due to rising raw material costs and softening consumer demand. After exploring funding options and undergoing an accelerated sales process, a £1m bid from Mills’ Vegan Solo Consulting was accepted, leading to the re-employment of a large number of affected staff. In a statement, Mills expressed her commitment to resurrecting the company and taking personal control of its operations to continue its contributions to the global food economy. She also announced the development of a new version of plant-based food, aimed at facilitating the transition to a healthier and more sustainable food market.
