Inco Contracts, a principal contractor based in Stevenage, has had a record-breaking year and is now embarking on its largest-ever project. Over the past twelve months, Inco Contracts has completed more than £12m worth of industrial and commercial refurbishment projects, accounting for one third of the firm’s national turnover of £36m. Since the launch of its Viewpoint Office Village base in May 2021, the office has received instructions for an impressive total of 88 projects, the latest of which will oversee a complex £2.4m industrial refurbishment in Dunstable, covering everything from new roofing to full internal decorations. This project seeks to meet Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments with a 140KW PV system, EV chargers, and cycle storage.
According to Rob Carter, the Southern expansion’s Regional Director since February 2021, Stevenage was chosen as the base for Inco Contracts due to its strategic location providing swift access to key transportation arteries. The headquarters is in Stafford and a third office is located in North West Warrington. Inco Contracts has completed more than 2100 industrial and commercial refurbishment schemes across the UK, often involving the company working alongside architects, designers, and landlords to bring warehouse and commercial office space back to life or to the required modern-day standards. Services provided range from industrial roof and cladding, dilapidation schemes, building services, M&E installations, and soft strip-outs, not to mention heritage and conservation work.
Rob Carter’s appointment as a Regional Director who led Stevenage’s opening and development was a pivotal moment in Inco Contracts’ history. With 17 years’ experience in the sector, Carter’s focus from the outset was to grow the Southern region by recruiting top talent and maintaining excellence in industrial and commercial refurbishments, as well as increasing the company’s geographic footprint into new locations. The company has since doubled its team to six and is actively recruiting for another contracts manager.
