Microlise Group, a provider of SaaS-based transport technology solutions to fleet operators, has recently acquired the assets of K-Safe Limited, the parent company behind the road safety products Flare and Flare Aware.
Based in Nottingham, Microlise has purchased all assets and intellectual property from K-Safe for a total consideration of £140,000. The acquisition includes the two products, Flare and Flare Aware.
Notably, Flare is a multi-award-winning platform with over 3.5 million regular users, utilized by leading brands such as Deliveroo and Just Eat. The mobile app provides incident detection, incident avoidance, SOS, and hazards functionality to ensure user safety while traveling on public roads.
Additionally, Flare Aware is a dynamic driver hazard warning system, jointly developed with Microlise to provide awareness and alerts to drivers of approaching fixed and dynamic hazards, using data captured from the Flare mobile app user network.
Microlise has integrated K-Safe’s two staff members into its business and novated all customer contracts. This acquisition, part of a pre-packaged deal following the appointment of Begbies Traynor Group Limited, expands Microlise’s market offerings to the fast-growing last-mile solution space and the global 2-wheel vehicle market.
Nadeem Raza, CEO of Microlise, expressed his excitement about the acquisition, stating, “We are excited to have acquired the assets of K-Safe, giving us exclusive access to the Flare and Flare Aware products. The Flare product also expands our market offerings to the fast-growing last mile solution space, and the 2-wheel vehicle space globally.”
