Kadans Science Partner recently obtained planning permission from the London Borough of Islington for its new office and laboratory building in King’s Cross, known as the Knowledge Quarter. The project, which was developed by a professional specialist team and the Kadans Science Partner inhouse team, reflects Kadans’ objective to reinforce Tileyard Quarter’s specialized facilities and standing within the London Knowledge Quarter. To accommodate the ever-changing research landscape, flexibility in design was a crucial consideration in the project’s origin. In collaboration with informed space planning, the building’s design was created to provide adaptable and long-term lab space with sufficient light and space, elements viewed as essential in modern work environments and of primary importance in retaining talent.
Will Fogden, Senior Development Manager at Kadans Science Partner, said: “It is exciting to reach this important milestone in the programme. With 5-10 Brandon Road completing in March 2024, it was important for Kadans to continue developing space to allow our tenants opportunities to expand in the area. 4 Brandon Road will provide more much needed, ground-up, purpose built commercial laboratory space for the ever-growing Knowledge Quarter.” The 51,500 sq ft building will offer Kadans’ expertise in designing, building, and operating R&D buildings to the cluster and furnish solid lab infrastructure to unleash an ecosystem for further innovation.
