Eric’s in Liverpool has recently undergone a relaunch with a range of new bands and acts, as well as a renovated interior paying homage to its significant place in music history. The original establishment opened in 1976, hosting some of the biggest names in rock ‘n’ roll, including The Clash, The Sex Pistols, U2, The Jam and The Cure. After an initial relaunch over a decade ago, the Eric’s team decided it was time for a complete refurbishment, restoring vintage pieces and memories, and paying attention to every detail of the iconic venue’s infrastructure design. The renovated interior features murals and artwork of famous bands who played at Eric’s. The venue’s decor includes accents of sheet metal guitars, highlighting the groundbreaking legacy of the Eric’s moniker.
“The original Eric’s created a significant legacy, and our goal with this relaunch was to tap into every element of that legacy,” said Jimmy Boland, Operations Manager at Eric’s. The team has worked tirelessly to ensure that their stage area, bar zones, facilities and decor are high-specification and contemporary, whilst also preserving the unique atmosphere that the establishment is known for. With 76 hours of live music a week, the Eric’s team provides a platform for fresh and established music talent, catering to visitors from all over who come to experience the thriving music scene in Liverpool.
The new 2024 Eric’s will now start catering to daytime guests, offering a venue to enjoy a drink or coffee and enjoy the featured memorabilia. The team hopes that Eric’s original accents and inspiration, paired with a forward-thinking approach, will create a reputation that stands apart in the music industry. The iconic establishment has cemented its place in music history, and the rejuvenated Eric’s will continue its legacy, providing a space for live music to flourish.
