Revolancer, a freelancer platform that allows users to exchange their services for cash or credits which can be used to redeem services from other users, has exceeded 120,000 active users globally. The platform is experiencing rapid growth, with over a thousand new users signing up daily. Revolancer, located in Caerphilly, was founded in 2021 by CEO Karl Swanepoel and is now entering its second fundraising round, where it aims to raise an additional $1.9 million to its initial raise of $700,000.

The platform offers freelancers paid work opportunities as well as a chance to earn credits that can be redeemed with other users. The credit system has been a significant pull factor for new freelancers seeking support for larger project work without an initial financial outlay. According to Swanepoel, the platform’s marketing efforts and the snowball effect of the users inviting others to join and collaborate on their projects have contributed to the recent growth spike.

Revolancer is proud of the community it has built, stating that its focus on creating a community of freelancers has been essential to its growth. Collaborating and sharing work has been made easier, which is especially important for new freelancers. The company’s target is to have one million members by 2025, and its founder feels confident that it is achievable.

Revolancer aims to make freelance and self-employment a viable career option and provide freelancers with a one-stop-shop platform, a network, and an environment to find and deliver work. With over two million freelancers in the UK contributing £162bn to the economy, the company aims to widen the debate about modern ways of working by petitioning to ban the 9 to 5.

Revolancer has garnered positive reviews from its members. Vanessa Siliezar found the platform’s credit system useful in delivering wider client projects, enabling her to offer more comprehensive services to her current clients and win new business pitches. She appreciates having a fellow creative to bounce ideas off works great for both parties.

The company is experiencing substantial growth and aims to establish itself as a leading freelance platform. With its community focus and innovative credit system, Revolancer seems well-positioned to meet its ambitious growth targets.
