Colt Technology Services has successfully acquired Lumen EMEA, concluding the final stage of the company’s deal with Lumen Technologies Inc. to purchase their EMEA business. The acquisition, which amounts to $1.8 billion, cements Colt’s position as one of the largest business-to-business-only telecoms companies globally. Keri Gilder will continue as CEO. As part of the deal, Colt and Lumen Technologies will enter into a partnership agreement that enables businesses in North America to access Colt’s digital infrastructure and services within and outside of North America.
Gilder expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition, citing it as a pivotal moment in Colt’s growth journey and a testament to the company’s dedication to helping its customers scale and thrive. She also noted that the acquisition would expand Colt’s technology portfolio, partner ecosystem, and digital infrastructure, allowing the company to enter new markets across Eastern Europe, the UAE, and parts of Africa.

Colt’s extensive fibre network spans 1.6 million kilometres, connecting 125 European cities in 34 EMEA countries, and they have built 11,000km of metropolitan networks across 23 countries and the UAE, with ten subsea cable systems, twelve cable landing stations across six countries, and PoPs in ten new locations.
