Scotland’s independent restaurant and bar operators, Buzzworks Holdings, has hired Scottish chef Brian Maule as a consultant to enhance their culinary excellence. Brian, who owned one of Scotland’s prominent fine dining restaurants, Brian Maule at Chardon d’Or, in Glasgow for 22 years, will use his 40 years of experience to build collaboration and efficiency across Buzzworks’ 19 venues. Brian started his career as a chef apprentice in Ayrshire before working with the Roux Brothers at the Michelin 2-star Restaurant, Le Gavroche in Mayfair. With its ambitious expansion strategy, Buzzworks aims to grow its business and create jobs in the local communities.
As a part of his six-month project, Brian aims to enhance Buzzworks further by using his wealth of knowledge and experience to work with talented kitchen teams to raise their level. By working with the best in the industry, Buzzworks will be better equipped to deal with increasing external pressures while maintaining its well-regarded reputation. Buzzworks, which has currently more than 800 team members and operates 19 prestigious venues across Scotland continues to go from strength-to-strength even in the challenging climate of the food industry.
Nicola Watt, Head of People at Buzzworks, believes that Brian’s appointment is an excellent coup for the business, as it will help the business push onwards and upwards further. Brian’s knowledge and experience will not only help Buzzworks continue to offer an exceptional experience to its valuable customers but will also streamline the business’s operations, ensuring the highest standards possible. Looking forward Watt added that Buzzworks aims to bring its first-class brand of hospitality to new communities across Scotland and it will be interesting to see what added benefits Brian brings over the next six months.
