Beyond Housing is in the final stage of its £43m development at Hummersea Hills in Loftus. In partnership with Esh Construction, the £15m last phase of the project comprises 128 homes, including a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom houses, one and two-bedroom apartments, and one, two and three-bedroom bungalows, with 73 of the homes being offered for affordable rent and the rest being marketed for Rent to Buy through Beyond Housing’s sales company, Viola Homes. 43 homes for flexible supported living are to be provided with care and support services from the community as part of the successful ‘Redcare’ partnership between Beyond Housing and Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council.
The final phase of Beyond Housing’s Hummersea Hills development will include 43 homes for flexible supported living, which is a priority in the council’s corporate plan document. Beyond Housing has already taken over 104 homes, including apartments, houses, and bungalows. Director of development at Beyond Housing, Clare Harrigan, said that the company was “delighted to be working with Esh Construction to deliver this attractive and strategically important development…the scheme will provide a range of much-needed affordable new homes, offering care and support, and a choice of tenures.”
Mark Binns, Operations Director at Esh Construction said that all parties involved worked hard to bring the project to the present stage, despite challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The new homes already handed over have been well received, and they look forward to bringing the site to completion soon.
Overall, the Hummersea Hills development offers mixed housing options, and the flexible supported living initiative demonstrates Beyond Housing’s commitment to serving residents’ needs. The benefits of the project will be significant, creating jobs, providing quality housing, and supporting the local economy.
