Ideal Heating is supporting a local business by funding an apprenticeship for one of its employees through the Apprenticeship Levy. The 21-year-old Connor Docherty, an employee of Bell4Business, will embark on a digital marketing apprenticeship. This move will not only develop Connor’s professional skills but also expand Bell4Business’s capabilities and benefit its clientele. The Apprenticeship Levy was introduced by the Government in 2017 for all companies paying a wage bill of over £3m a year. This tax can be reinvested to cover apprenticeship training, and any unspent funds can also be transferred to SMEs. Ideal Heating has set aside up to £25k annually to transfer to SMEs.
Ideal Heating is committed to investing in the local area, addressing collective skills requirements and helping develop future talent. The Hull-based company has currently employed 27 apprentices, including four recently added this year. Digitalisation is a key priority for Ideal Heating, and investing in the localization of digital marketing skills makes sense for the company. Through this investment, Ideal Heating is supporting Connor and Bell4Business while also being able to fulfill its responsibility as a major employer in Hull. Ideal Heating demonstrates its dedication to the local community by partnering with Hull Business Training Centre and local businesses. HEY LEP played a crucial role in linking Ideal Heating, Bell4Business, and HBTC through its Business Growth Hub.
To conclude, Ideal Heating used Apprenticeship Levy funding to support local talent, invest in the development of skills in digital marketing, and provide opportunities for SMEs. As a result, Ideal Heating and Bell4Business will both benefit from Connor’s digital marketing apprenticeship. This collaboration allows both Ideal Heating and Bell4Business to contribute to the development of the future talent pool while accelerating their professional growth.
