Connexin has announced Shadi Halliwell as the new managing director of Connexin Fibre. A well-known figure in the telecoms industry, Halliwell has over 30 years of experience working for major names such as BT, O2, and Three UK. As head of brand and marcomms at O2, she was instrumental in creating O2 Priority Tickets and helped make the company the UK’s second largest ticket seller. At Three UK, she revised and re-launched the brand strategy to focus on network quality and the launch of 5G.
Furqan Alamgir, co-founder and CEO at Connexin, expressed his delight at Halliwell’s appointment, saying, “Her years of experience in the sector make her telco royalty, so we’re honoured to have her as the driving force behind the broadband division.” Halliwell was previously the company’s non-executive director since 2020, and she is excited to be part of such a forward-thinking and ambitious company.
Connexin is among the largest alternative network providers in the North and has broken the Hull broadband monopoly to provide the area with more choices, hyperfast speeds, and the ultimate customer experience. The company has connected its 25,000th broadband customer this year and continues to build Full Fibre in Hull and across the North. It has ambitious plans to expand the network further to every city in the UK and beyond.
Halliwell’s appointment is expected to play a pivotal role in achieving this objective. “I look forward to working with the team as we enter 2024 and continue to grow the market,” she said. The team at Connexin recognizes her game-changing ideas and hopes she will bring fresh and groundbreaking thoughts to the table as Connexin Fibre’s new managing director.
