Work on the redevelopment of a section of Shipley Library, which will house the Shipley Business Enterprise Hub, is set to commence at the end of August. The Shipley Business Enterprise Hub, funded by £85,000 from the Shipley Towns Fund, will provide resources, advice, and meeting space for local businesses and start-ups.
This investment will cover a complete refurbishment of the exhibition space, including co-working equipment and access to specialized business databases. Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, Planning and Transport, expressed confidence that the Enterprise Hub will prove invaluable to the local business community, especially for new and emerging businesses.
Adam Clerkin, chair of Shipley Towns Fund, emphasized the importance of their support for the thriving business community in Shipley. A dedicated business information advisor will be available on-site for a year, providing advice, guidance, and training to existing staff. Construction of the hub will commence in August and is projected to be completed within a month.
Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s Portfolio Holder for Healthy People and Healthy Places, praised the addition of the Enterprise Hub to the library, recognizing it as a valuable resource for local businesses. Once the hub is operational, she encourages people to fully utilize this opportunity.
