Agilico, a provider of workspace, IT and telecom solutions, has demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and regional growth with the launch of a new purpose-built office facility in Team Valley. This investment is a significant milestone for the company as it brings together two separate offices into a single modern, energy-efficient building. This move aims to improve operational efficiency, foster collaboration, and create opportunities for local job growth.
The decision to consolidate the offices into one purpose-built facility aligns with Agilico’s vision to streamline operations and reduce environmental impact. The new building has been designed to be more energy-efficient, economically viable, and environmentally responsible, incorporating optimized heating, ventilation, and lighting systems.
Warren Colby, head of the Team Valley plant, explains the benefits of the new facility, stating, “So not only is it a more energy-efficient, economical, brighter building for us, but it combines two sites. So, there’s one set of lights on as opposed to two sets across two buildings running. We consolidate operations and develop working synergies. As well as fostering that all important sense of collaboration. Many of our people are returning to the office environment post Covid and want to physically be able to collaborate with colleagues.”
The newly launched facility spans 20,000 sq. feet and has been custom designed to maximize efficiency, providing a more pleasant and productive workspace for Agilico’s employees. Additionally, the company has invested in state-of-the-art technology to measure and monitor energy usage, in line with their commitment to ISO 14001 standards and their journey towards achieving net-zero emissions. Furthermore, the expansion of the refurbished center at the Team Valley site is expected to have a positive impact on the region’s economy.
With increased capacity and capabilities, the facility will serve as a hub for refurbishing IT devices, catering not only to local customers but also extending its services to neighboring regions across the north of England.
Cllr Malcom Brain, the Cabinet Member for Economy at Gateshead Council, commends Agilico for their commitment to sustainability and job creation. I welcome the news that the new office will increase job opportunities for our local residents; we know in businesses that office environments are key to attracting today’s workforce. This certainly has been considered in their development of the new office space.”
