Derby-based flex office provider, Cubo, continues its expansion into the north of England with the purchase of a 20,000 sq ft workspace in Newcastle city centre. Leases have been exchanged on the top two floors of Bank House on Pilgrim Street, strategically positioned in the heart of the city. This new acquisition marks Cubo’s first venture into the North East, as the company aims to nearly double its national footprint by the end of 2023. With investment support from Literacy Capital, Cubo currently operates in seven UK locations, including Leeds, Birmingham, Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield, and Edinburgh. Additionally, plans for new spaces in Manchester, Birmingham, and Nottingham are already in motion. The newly acquired workspace in Newcastle is expected to open its doors towards the end of the year.

Tony Wordsworth, director at Avison Young, one of the joint letting agents for Bank House alongside Knight Frank, welcomed Cubo as the fifth tenant of the building: “We are excited to welcome Cubo and we eagerly anticipate the launch of their unique offering later this year. Bank House has already seen significant success, securing leases with notable companies such as DAC Beachcroft, Lycetts, Barclays, and Oliver Wyman, resulting in over 55,000 sq ft being let within just three months of its launch. With Cubo on board, the building is now able to cater to an even wider range of occupiers, and we believe their business aligns perfectly with Bank House.”
