Roger Pearce has been appointed as the Head of Health, Safety, and Environment (Humber) at ABP, with a focus on supporting health and safety initiatives for the group. With experience in both regulatory and commercial organizations across various sectors such as manufacturing, real estate, and hospitality, Pearce expressed his excitement about joining ABP and highlighted the excellent initiatives and approaches, including the Thrive training program. He emphasized the importance of this training in delivering ABP’s message effectively. Pearce acknowledged ABP’s longstanding commitment to health, safety, and the environment and outlined their goal of driving continuous improvement. He eagerly anticipated working with the ABP team, partners, and customers to ensure the well-being and safety of people in their workplaces across the Humber ports.
Coming from a background in the healthcare industry, where Pearce managed high-risk environments involving the sterilization of medical devices using radiation and highly hazardous chemicals, he brings valuable expertise to his new role. His career in health and safety started after 12 years in the Merchant Navy, followed by qualifying as an Environmental Health Officer, which equipped him with essential legal knowledge and safety management skills.
