M-EC Development Technical Consultants, which specializes in engineering and technical consulting, is currently undergoing a significant change. Co-founder and majority shareholder Eddie Mewies has sold his stake in the Leicestershire-based company, relinquishing his role as Managing Director. Stepping into his shoes is Alex Bennett, who has acquired all shares and now assumes full ownership of M-EC as well as the role of Managing Director.
M-EC Development Technical Consultants was founded by Eddie and Alex in 2009 amidst the recession, with a vision to offer innovative and sustainable technical solutions to clients from diverse industries. Since then, the company has evolved from its humble beginnings to become a respected player in the technical consulting sector.
Reflecting on his decision, Eddie expressed his gratitude, stating, “It has been an honor to establish and lead M-EC alongside a team of talented professionals. Alex, a minority shareholder and Director of M-EC for the past 14 years, played a pivotal role in the company’s success. With a wealth of experience and expertise, he is well-equipped to take on his new role as Managing Director. Having an in-depth understanding of the company’s operations, Alex will effectively guide M-EC towards future growth and sustained excellence in technical consulting.

As part of this transition, Tim Rose, Director of M-EC, will remain an integral part of the leadership team. Tim’s ongoing support will prove invaluable in ensuring a seamless transition and continuity of operations, as well as supporting Alex in propelling the business forward.

Although Eddie has stepped down from his position as Managing Director and shareholder, he will temporarily assume a consultancy position at M-EC to ensure a smooth progression of ongoing projects and provide essential support during this transitional phase.
