North East recruitment firm Concept Personnel has initiated an ambitious expansion program, starting with a merger with another recruitment business. The North Tyneside-based consultancy, led by Jo Carter, has combined with Milton Keynes-based Onyx Recruitment, headed by Michelle Theuma, to broaden their services for existing and potential clients. The new establishment, known as Concept Onyx Recruitment, is set to expand rapidly within the next three to five years, staffing each office to handle its growth.
Concept Personnel is a marketing, creative, and digital recruitment agency with a team of seven, while Onyx Recruitment specializes in recruiting senior interim and temporary personnel in finance, accountancy, operations, and HR. The new business, operating from its offices in North Tyneside and Milton Keynes, will continue to focus on its niche areas while also starting to offer a wider range of sector experience across other industries.
According to Jo Carter, the merger “allows us to combine skills and resources, expanding the range of services we can offer existing and new clients.” The plan is to develop three teams in each office offering specialized support in the areas of digital and tech, marketing and creative, and HR and finance sectors. Concept and Onyx believe that their two client bases will have crossover requirements that can be fulfilled by the new business.
The recruitment environment continues to evolve, demanding changing skills and requests. Both Jo and Michelle are aware of this, stating that they need to “listen and react quickly and constructively to the changing needs of our clients.” By assisting in finding the requisite talent, they aim to help other people grow their teams and businesses. Both firms hope to contribute towards their clients’ economic and relational growth, building strong, long-lasting relationships as businesses and people thrive.
