NeoDyne, one of Ireland’s leading industrial automation and electrical engineering companies, has recently established its UK headquarters right in the heart of Chesterfield. This momentous occasion was attended by Toby Perkins MP, Shadow Minister for Skills and Further Education, along with local councillors Jenny Flood and Keith Miles, Deputy Leader of Chesterfield Borough Council Amanda Serjeant, and Dom Stevens from Destination Chesterfield.
Chesterfield, known for its rich engineering heritage, was an obvious choice for NeoDyne’s UK base, as it offers convenient accessibility to both the midlands and the north. Matt Close, UK Business Lead, emphasized that the company is proud to invest in and support the local economy while working closely with Destination Chesterfield to champion the area’s potential.
Matt Close, who possesses over 25 years of experience working with top UK automation and engineering companies, joined NeoDyne earlier this year and now leads the Chesterfield team. Martin Farrell, NeoDyne’s MD, expressed confidence in Matt’s ability to take the UK office to new heights and praised his extensive industrial background, sector knowledge, and business connections.
The launch event also welcomed representatives from local universities, such as the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University. Matt gratefully acknowledged their presence, highlighting the importance of working with these institutions to build a talented and skilled UK-based team. This collaboration has also motivated NeoDyne to partner with local universities for placement and graduate recruitment programs, aiming to nurture future engineering talent.
Toby Perkins MP commended NeoDyne’s decision to open its Chesterfield premises, recognizing it as a sign of confidence in the town and its ability to boost the local economy. He further acknowledged Chesterfield’s transformation in manufacturing and expressed excitement about formally welcoming NeoDyne and discussing their plans for the future.
