Evermile, a London-based delivery platform for local businesses, has formed a strategic alliance with Uber Direct, Uber’s white-label delivery option. The partnership will enable businesses across the UK to streamline their deliveries, widen their delivery range and speed, while maintaining full ownership of the customer relationship, in time for the busy holiday season. Through AI, Evermile helps to simplify and automate complex deliveries for local UK businesses and raised £4.8m in April. Uber Direct, which operates on the same courier network as Uber Eats, allows UK businesses, from flower shops, butchers and wine stores, to delis and independent retailers of all sizes to offer on-demand deliveries directly to their customers via their own sales channels.
The agreement will make a marked difference to businesses that rely on direct channels such as online orders, in-store shopping or phone sales. As well as giving a full delivery service, they will be able to offer their customers same day delivery service with real-time tracking, thereby meeting a fundamental customer expectation in today’s market.
Omer Goldschmidt, Co-Founder and CEO at Evermile, said, “Local businesses deserve the tools to remain agile and competitive. This partnership with Uber bridges the gap between these businesses and world-class delivery infrastructure. Every local merchant can guarantee delivery speeds and reliability whilst maintaining their individual brand experience. This collaboration is more than just about delivery services; it is a positive statement that local retailers can and will, hold their own in this competitive market.”
Caroline Varga, Head of Uber Direct UK&I, added, “Through our collaboration with Evermile, we can strengthen UK local businesses’ delivery capacity, enabling many of them to flourish even in the midst of difficult economic times. By using Uber Direct, these enterprises can sustain their brand identity while broadening their delivery capabilities to offer clients quick and dependable delivery choices.”
This union involves more than just a collaboration; it is a statement supporting small business owners to stand out in a competitive marketplace.
