The deal for Galloways Accounting to buy a company with offices in Brighton and Worthing is done.
Barry Carden started Cardens Accountants in 2006. Since then, the company has grown from a team of ten to one with more than 60 local finance professionals on staff.
After agreeing to merge in May 2022, Carden has accepted an offer to be the managing partner of the whole Galloways Accounting business.
It will still have its larger Hove team work out of the Old Casino in Hove.
The new group has more than 200 employees, and the deal gives Galloways Accounting group a bigger reach across the whole of Sussex.
The deal is meant to help Galloways reach its goals for growth over the next three years. Cow Corner Investments has been helping the company since 2018.
Carden said: “My business partners and I thought it was the right time in our growth cycle to join forces with another firm. As the business world changes, our clients need more audit and tax experts.
“I’m excited to take on the role of managing partner and use my skills, which I’ve honed over the years, in the bigger practise.”
Iain Campbell, Galloways’ chief financial officer, added: “Cardens has been on our minds a lot since Cow Corner’s first investment in 2018, and we’re glad they’ve joined the herd.
“Galloways wants to keep growing while making sure clients are happy, and we think Barry, his partners, and his team can help us make sure this growth keeps going.”
