Gould Alloys has recently expanded its operations at Markham Vale by securing a 10-year lease on an additional 55,000 sq ft of space. This expansion into the MV55 unit marks almost a decade since the company first established its presence at Markham Vale, with an initial investment of over £1m in state-of-the-art technology and machinery.
Markham Vale, situated in Chesterfield, is a prominent 200-acre industrial and logistics scheme developed through a joint venture partnership between HBD and Derbyshire County Council. The new building acquired by Gould Alloys plays a pivotal role in the company’s sustainability strategy while providing ample space to accommodate future business opportunities.
The swift leasing of the MV55 unit reflects the continued demand for space at Markham Vale, with no void period. Tom Wheldon, Head of Region at HBD, expressed delight at Gould Alloys’ expansion, recognizing the location’s suitability for the company’s second base within the scheme. He emphasized that the building’s outstanding features promote sustainability, assisting in reducing the company’s carbon output.

The expansion allows the company to operate in a more sustainable manner by minimizing material movement and carbon emissions, while also enhancing their capacity to fulfill future contracts as they continue to grow.
