Huckletree, a leading innovator in curated co-working spaces, is making preparations for the launch of Huckletree Innovation Lab at Regent’s University London this September. This partnership aims to provide university students with a creative and entrepreneurial environment, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration on campus.
The Innovation Lab is specifically designed to support entrepreneurship, stimulate ideas, and help students establish valuable networks. With a spacious area spanning 2,000 sq ft, the lab will be located at the heart of Regent’s campus, serving as a hub where aspiring entrepreneurs, disruptors, and innovators can gather to envision and create a new world.
Students will have access to a fully equipped workspace, a well-curated program of events and workshops, and a vast network of advisors who will assist them in taking their business ideas to the next level. The Huckletree team will work closely with Regent’s students, faculty, and alumni, providing mentorship and resources to help them develop their ideas and turn them into successful ventures.
The program’s events will include skills workshops, fireside chats, regular pitch practice, and founder breakfasts led by some of London’s most innovative entrepreneurs. This program will offer guidance and a roadmap for students’ entrepreneurial journey, leveraging the knowledge and experience of the Huckletree community, while also connecting students with like-minded peers and industry experts.
Regent’s University London has gained recognition for nurturing a high percentage of company founders among UK universities. Currently, 82 students from Regent’s University London are participating in the inaugural round of Huckletree’s Future Founders Programme, which is an eight-week bootcamp for first-time founders. This program equips them with practical knowledge and advice to launch their businesses, thus establishing a crucial foundation for this collaboration. This program includes high-impact workshops delivered by industry experts, such as Gabbi Cahane, partner at Stride.VC, and Abadesi Osunsade, author and founder of Hustle Crew.
The partnership is led by Professor Geoff Smith, vice-chancellor and CEO of Regent’s University London, and Gabriela Hersham, CEO and co-founder of Huckletree, who is also an alumna of Regent’s University.
Gabriela Hersham expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are excited to be partnering with Regent’s to bring our Huckletree ecosystem and expertise to the next generation of entrepreneurs through our new Innovation Lab. This is our first university hub, which marks a crucial milestone for Huckletree in democratizing education and providing opportunities for aspiring business owners. Our mission is to support and accelerate the growth of ambitious, innovative startups, and by granting students access to our expertise and resources, we can help them unleash their potential and make a significant impact in the world.”
Professor Geoff Smith emphasized Regent’s University London’s reputation for nurturing successful founders, making the partnership with Huckletree all the more rewarding. He stated, “Cultivating possibility is at the core of what we do, and this collaboration will bring with it boundless opportunities for our students and wider community.”
The Huckletree Innovation Lab at Regent’s University London is scheduled to open its doors in September 2023.
