Professional services firm EY has declared its plans to move to a new office located in Leeds city centre, as part of the company’s investment in its growing Yorkshire business. The new office, situated in Wellington Place, is conveniently situated near Leeds train station and is fitted with advanced technology and first-class facilities. EY is expected to migrate to its new premises in the summer of 2024, after concluding its current lease at Bridgewater Place.
EY’s Leeds business has showcased consistent robust growth and currently employs over 480 individuals, including 39 partners. Additionally, 34 graduates and apprentices joined the Leeds office in September 2023 as part of EY’s student recruitment program. The new location at 12 Wellington Place will offer cutting-edge workspaces that comprise ample areas for both in-person collaboration and independent working, further supporting the company’s hybrid work approach.
As EY people are now able to bifurcate their time between the office, client location, or their home, the role of offices has grown substantially as a place for collaborating, learning, development, and networking. The new building located at 12 Wellington Place is designated as one of the UK’s most sustainable office buildings according to NABERS UK’s industry ratings, assuring achievement of EY’s sustainability goals. The property showcases roof-mounted solar panels, LED lighting, and energy sourced fully from renewable sources. Furthermore, the site includes secure bike storage, access to shower and changing facilities, and electric bike and car charging points.
Tim West, Office Managing Partner at EY in Leeds, said: “Our business in Leeds has continued to see strong levels of growth in recent years, and the investment in a new office marks our commitment to maintaining a strong presence in the region. Our new office with its prime location, robust transport links and top-quality facilities will provide a cutting-edge work environment for our employees as we continue to grow and develop to serve the region’s thriving business community. We look forward to welcoming our clients and EY teams to our new premises later in the year.”
