Project Better Energy, a provider of clean technology and heating solutions, has named Volker Beckers as non-executive chairman. Beckers, a Cologne University graduate with a background in Economics & Business Administration and extensive experience in the energy industry, including roles at RWE Npower plc, HM Revenue & Customs, and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority Board, brings valuable expertise to the company.
Founded in 2011 by CEO Simon Peat, Project Better Energy has grown to become the UK’s largest solar panel retailer and a leading provider of EV systems and energy efficiency solutions. With approximately 300 employees and £100m in annual sales, the company is well-positioned for continued success.
Beckers’ appointment follows Freshstream’s acquisition of a stake in the company, signaling a new phase of growth. He expressed excitement about the company’s potential, noting the increasing demand for clean energy solutions and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Peat echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of Beckers’ experience in driving the company’s ambitious growth strategy.
This addition to the board will undoubtedly provide valuable insights and guidance as Project Better Energy continues to expand its range of clean technology and energy efficiency solutions across the UK.
