OTB Legal, a Nottingham-based UK immigration law practise, is expanding again after hiring three key new appointments. Two new associate solicitors and a paralegal have joined the business.
Kate Gamester, an experienced solicitor, has joined OTB Legal as an associate solicitor. She specialised in corporate immigration, sponsor licence administration and compliance, and work authorization checks.
Kate has worked for a number of international household companies in a variety of business sectors throughout the course of her career, and she is also familiar with UK Expansion Worker sponsor licencing applications.
Amie Higgins, meanwhile, has joined OTB Legal as an associate solicitor. Amie is a highly skilled and sought after human rights and public law specialist who was called to the Bar in 2005 and admitted to the Roll as a solicitor in 2008.
Amie is a past recipient of the LAPG’s ‘Immigration Lawyer of the Year’ award and is accredited as a Supervising Advanced Caseworker under the Law Society’s Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme (IAAS).
Amie offers advice and support in all elements of asylum and immigration law difficulties, both privately and with legal aid, where possible. Amie also works as a legal compliance consultant, delivering legal aid, quality standards, equality, diversity, and inclusion, and safeguarding training and assistance to attorneys and law companies.
Finally, Bridget Umoru has joined OTB Legal as a paralegal. Bridget was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales and has worked with a number of legal charities, offering both practical and emotional help to vulnerable clients. She has also provided high-level day-to-day support to solicitors, mostly in immigration and personal law situations.
OTB Legal’s Marcus Worthington said: “I’d like to extend a very warm welcome to Kate, Amie and Bridget – they’ll be key members of the team as we move forward and have extensive experience in immigration law.
“The high calibre of legal professionals we’re now attracting to OTB Legal is testament to our track record of getting the very best outcomes for our clients. I have no doubt that our new trio will build upon and enhance this tradition and their arrival is well-timed and builds momentum after our encouraging rankings in Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500.”
