A Teesside property business has successfully filled multiple new positions after experiencing a record-breaking year with a surge in demand for its services. Only a couple of years ago, Horizon Sales and Lettings comprised a team of only three directors. However, due to an exceptional 12 months, the company now boasts a workforce of 20 talented individuals.
The recently hired staff members have all taken on crucial management roles, expanding the Middlesbrough-based firm’s workforce by over a third. Denis Shail, one of the company’s directors and an experienced mortgage advisor, stated, “Three years ago, our goal was to sell 60 units annually, but now our sales far exceed that expectation. We consistently achieve top rankings on Rightmove, and our inquiries and valuation requests have reached unprecedented levels.”
Co-director Chris Bunn added, “Business is thriving, as is the Teesside property market, which is why we saw the perfect opportunity to augment our talent pool. Unsurprisingly, our new staff members have seamlessly integrated into their new roles and hit the ground running.”
The newly appointed employees will assume various positions within the company, either in the estate agency or refurbishment divisions. Among the recruits is Jan Westbury, who brings 20 years of invaluable industry experience to his new role as branch manager. Additionally, two positions were filled internally, with Charlotte Young earning a promotion to investor relations manager after demonstrating two years of commitment to the Newport Road company. Meanwhile, James Miller has been appointed site manager after serving as lead joiner for 18 months.
From external sources, business development manager Jordan Ward and maintenance manager Jeff Barber joined the company, having previously worked for well-known local estate agents. Additionally, Wendy Jonas has come aboard as Horizon’s new operations manager, bringing her expertise from a national house building chain. Furthermore, Flynn Linklater-Johnson has become a full-time property assessor.
Director Martin McManus expressed his satisfaction, saying, “We are thrilled with each of them; they are natural fits for our business, bringing the necessary skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm to drive us further forward. The fact that they willingly left prestigious property companies in the North East to join us demonstrates their belief in our company’s vision and their commitment to our growth. We firmly believe that great things lie ahead, and we are delighted to have them on board for this journey.”
