Royal Mail has introduced a new International Tracked service that allows both account customers and consumers to ship larger and heavier items internationally. This service provides an equivalent export option for all items handled within the UK. As a result, individuals in the UK can now send larger parcels to their family and friends residing abroad, including care packages, books, and clothing items like coats. This is particularly beneficial for parents with children living or studying overseas. In addition, Royal Mail offers IOSS to facilitate easy shipments to the EU and provides duty-paid delivery to eight destinations, streamlining the process for recipients.
The new International Tracked service is available to a wide range of destinations across the globe, including popular countries such as the USA, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, Japan, and Ireland. Previously, customers were limited to sending packages weighing up to 2kg worldwide, up to 5kg to select destinations, and with a maximum size of 90cm for all three dimensions combined.
Account customers of Royal Mail can access the new International Tracked service through their approved shipping solution, while non-account holders and consumers can utilize Royal Mail’s Click and Drop feature to take advantage of the capability to ship larger and heavier parcels. These parcels can be collected from the sender through Royal Mail’s convenient Parcel Collect service or dropped off at Parcel Postboxes and Post Office branches.
According to Nick Landon, the chief commercial officer at Royal Mail, this expansion of their product offerings aims to enable businesses and marketplace sellers to tap into new markets and growth opportunities. By allowing all customers to use the Royal Mail International services they already trust, he affirms that the shipping solutions provided by Royal Mail are straightforward to use, highlighting their commitment to supporting customer growth.
