Santander UK has recently initiated a partnership with Bionic, a business utilities comparison and switching service, to assist businesses in saving both time and money when switching their utility provider. This partnership allows Santander UK customers to easily connect with Bionic through Santander’s website.
According to a survey conducted by Santander earlier this year, 65 percent of retail businesses mentioned that the increasing cost of living has made it more challenging to run their operations. Among those struggling, 61 percent specifically cited rising energy costs as a significant issue.
Bionic employs a combination of advanced technology and human expertise to match businesses with the best deals on gas, electricity, broadband, and phone providers. Additionally, Bionic helps companies avoid any disruptions to their business by assisting them in finding digital solutions such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) to replace their traditional analogue landlines, especially with the imminent completion of the digital switchover in 2025.
Businesses looking to ensure they are on suitable energy deals can turn to Santander and be seamlessly connected to Bionic. By providing their postcode and relevant details, a Bionic expert will compare quotes and present various options for business owners to choose from. Bionic will then handle the arrangement of a contract with the chosen supplier. A similar service is also available for businesses seeking to switch to new deals with broadband and phone service providers.
Darren Whiteley, Head of Product & Proposition, Business Banking at Santander UK, emphasized the impacts of the rising cost of living on businesses and highlighted the importance of companies not overpaying for essential utilities, including energy. He stated, “By partnering with Bionic, we aim to simplify the process of switching to energy, broadband, and phone deals that best suit businesses, while also helping them save money. This partnership complements our SME Support Toolkit, which offers businesses a range of free, non-financial resources to assist them in navigating the challenges brought about by the increasing cost of living.”
Jules Taylor, Head of Partnerships at Bionic, expressed their vision of making business operations significantly more manageable. Through the collaboration with Santander UK, they can expand their reach to a larger number of businesses and provide them with accurate information, enabling them to make smarter choices. Taylor referred to this partnership as an exciting opportunity to support businesses across the country.
