Wilkin Chapman, the largest law firm in Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, is pleased to announce the addition of ten trainee solicitors to its offices in Grimsby, Lincoln, Beverley, and the Wolds. This expansion of our trainee solicitor program reaffirms our commitment to nurturing talented individuals and grooming them for successful careers as qualified solicitors within our firm.
The two-year contract offers a hands-on learning experience in various areas of law, divided into four six-month placements across the firm. Trainees also have the opportunity to work in multiple offices, gaining exposure to different clients and projects. This holistic approach to training ensures a well-rounded skill set and an in-depth understanding of the legal profession.
Lisa Boileau, partner and head of our private client division, emphasizes the importance of investing in the next generation of legal professionals. She notes, “We firmly believe that developing well-trained and highly skilled lawyers is vital for the future success of our firm.” Last year, we welcomed seven trainee solicitors, and this year we have extended ten contracts, representing our dedication to fostering talent within our firm.
Furthermore, we prefer to hire trainees as paralegals whenever possible, allowing them to acclimate to our systems and become familiar with our friendly and close-knit community. This approach ensures a seamless transition into the training contract and sets a strong foundation for a rewarding and long-term career in law.
Harriet Costello, one of our trainee solicitors at the Grimsby office, shares her experience, stating, “During my time as a paralegal at Wilkin Chapman, it became clear that this firm offered the ideal environment for my training. The high level of expertise and professionalism exhibited by the firm’s professionals is truly inspiring.” Costello also praises the firm’s reputation, diverse range of services, and the opportunity to explore various legal sectors before choosing a specialization.
In addition to working closely with experienced lawyers, our trainees benefit from attending internal and external training courses to enhance their skills as practicing solicitors, with all expenses covered by the firm.
We are excited to see the growth and development of our new trainee solicitors as they embark on their training contracts. Our firm is committed to providing them with the necessary support and guidance to build rewarding careers in the legal field.
