The Business Enterprise Fund, a not-for-profit organization based in Bradford, has appointed Tim Hamilton as the new chair of the board of directors. Tim, a partner at Pannone Corporate, brings extensive experience in the legal profession and a strong commitment to fostering economic growth. CEO Stephen Waud expressed excitement about Tim’s leadership, vision, and dedication aligning with BEF’s mission to empower businesses and create positive social impact. The board of directors includes Alex Beardsley, James Mason, Katie Hurrell, Laurence Beardmore, Penny Hembrow, Simon Jackson, Stephen Waud, and Tim Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton expressed his honor at serving as chair and his eagerness to support the team in delivering the opportunities outlined in the social impact report. Key highlights from the report include BEF’s £16m investment in new and existing businesses, the creation of 396 new UK businesses, and the pivotal role BEF played in job creation by supporting 1,885 jobs in the region. The report also highlighted BEF’s commitment to diverse entrepreneurship, with 34% of clients being women-led businesses and 14% being ethnic minority-led businesses. Furthermore, BEF’s dedication to community engagement was emphasized, with nearly £10,000 raised in support of local causes.
