BBIC Ltd, operating as The Business Village, is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Beasley as Chief Executive effective April 16th, 2024. Martin brings with him a wealth of experience and a successful track-record, having served as Group Leader for Enterprising Barnsley, the award-winning economic development arm of Barnsley Council, for the past 15 years. Among his notable accomplishments are initiatives such as the “Future-Ready Net Zero Accelerator project,” which aimed to reduce carbon emissions and work towards Net Zero and was delivered by a partnership headed by The Business Village.
Adrian Waite, the outgoing Chief Executive, who had admirably served in the role for nine years, will retire at the end of December. The Board has expressed its deep gratitude to Adrian for his exceptional leadership and commitment, particularly in upholding the resilience of The Business Village during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the interim period from January to April, Thom Webb, a BBIC Board member and Northern Director at Newable Ltd, co-owner of The Business Village with Barnsley Council, will serve as the interim Chief Executive. Thom’s intimate knowledge of the company and the local area ensures a smooth transition.
Martin expressed his deep appreciation for this opportunity and said, “I look forward to building on the solid foundation laid by Adrian and his management team to achieve our mission as I take on the role of Chief Executive at The Business Village.”
This announcement is a reflection of the Board’s commitment to provide quality leadership and realize its vision for the future.
