Kadans Science Partner is pleased to announce the addition of AviadoBio to its recently completed wet lab innovation and flexible workspace center at 20 Water Street in Canary Wharf. AviadoBio, a pioneering gene therapy company focused on developing transformative medicines for neurodegenerative disorders, will establish a laboratory and office presence at the Innovation Centre.
Following the recent completion of our wet-lab Innovation Centre at levels four and five at 20 Water Street, AviadoBio will commence operations at Kadans’ London Innovation Centre. This partnership will see AviadoBio join our growing European ecosystem, which currently consists of over 450 tenants including Cytiva, Akamis Bio, GeneFirst, and Sherlock Bioscience.
According to Lisa Deschamps, AviadoBio’s CEO, “We are thrilled about our new partnership with Kadans and the opportunity to have laboratory and office space at the Innovation Centre in Canary Wharf. The state-of-the-art facility will provide us with the necessary space to comfortably accommodate our growing team, focused on developing and delivering transformative gene therapies for diseases such as frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Additionally, being surrounded by others in the life science space aligns with our company’s culture and our commitment to nurturing breakthrough discoveries.”
Claudia Tripp, commercial asset manager at Kadans Science Partner, also expressed her enthusiasm about attracting AviadoBio to the Innovation Centre. She stated, “The swift arrival of AviadoBio to the Innovation Centre showcases the strong demand for high-quality, flexible wet lab facilities, as well as the excellent quality of the product we have delivered at 20 Water Street. This achievement further reinforces our position as a go-to destination for health and life sciences organizations of all sizes at Canary Wharf. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with AviadoBio and providing necessary space for start-up and early-stage companies to grow with us.”
The Innovation Centre offers 40,000 sq ft of fully fitted, flexible wet labs, ranging from 250 sq ft to over 2,000 sq ft. Tenants can choose to rent a bench in a shared lab or have their own private lab. This state-of-the-art facility, combined with the growing life sciences community at Canary Wharf, has spurred the joint venture between Kadans and Canary Wharf Group to develop the largest commercial health and life sciences building in Europe, spanning 823,000 sq ft GIA on the 3.3-hectare North Quay site. The completion of this project is expected in 2027.
