UK growth lender ThinCats has granted £5.5m in growth capital to Big Fang Collective (BFC), an experiential leisure operator, as part of BFC’s expansion plans. Since its founding in 2016, BFC has grown from a single location in Cains Brewery, Liverpool, to a multi-venue business with six indoor sites across the UK, employing 260 people. Each venue offers a combination of crazy golf, bespoke art, DJs and signature cocktails inside a cathedral of graffiti. The group now brings together multiple concepts under one roof, including in-house pizzeria Nothing Cheezy and Big Fang Karaoke, launched in Liverpool in 2023. Following the funding received from ThinCats, BFC plans to launch new venues in several cities across the UK.
Alex McEachern, Director of Marketing and Communications, ThinCats, commented “It is fantastic to see businesses like Big Fang with an ambitious growth strategy. The management team has done a great job in pushing the boundaries of the crazy golf experience, and we are excited to be a part of their growth journey.”
Big Fang Collective commented “We are excited to further accelerate our venue growth plans with the support of ThinCats and our investors. We now have heads of terms signed across three major cities and a strong pipeline for the coming year. With the right people, property and funding now in place, we are set to make 2024 our best year yet.”
