Leeds-based tech firm, C-Capture, has appointed Warren East CBE, former CEO of Arm and Rolls-Royce, as the board’s chair. C-Capture is committed to developing the world’s most energy-efficient carbon capture process, using solvent-based technology to capture CO2 from industrial flue gases. The company is working towards a scalable, modular approach which is expected to lower the cost of capture while applying it to a broad range of hard-to-abate industries. Tom White, CEO of C-Capture, expressed his excitement for East’s appointment, highlighting his expertise in commercialising novel technologies, successfully scaling businesses, and his commitment to the energy transition.
East brings almost 40 years of technological and industrial experience in his role as a chartered engineer at Texas Instruments, where he spent 11 years, and later, at Arm, where he served as CEO from 2001 to 2013. East went on to be the CEO of Rolls-Royce and championed its strategic shift to Net Zero until his retirement at the end of 2022. East’s previous non-executive director roles at Dyson and BT Group, as well as current board roles at ASML and Tokamak Energy, add to his significant leadership experience. East stated his eagerness to work with the management team to scale the business, expressing his excitement towards C-Capture’s carbon capture technology and its potential to break through current barriers that prevent widespread adoption of this critical technology for achieving Net Zero.
