Translink has revealed the details of its night-time Christmas transportation services, Nightmovers.
The service will operate on Friday and Saturday nights, beginning on 24 November. In conjunction with Hospitality Ulster, the Belfast Improvement Districts, and local taxi firms, fonaCAB and Valuecabs, Translink aims to encourage partygoers to visit the city while providing assurance that they can return home safely.
Late-night Belfast Metro services will commence from Friday 24 November and will be followed by Goldliner/Urby and rail services from 1 December offering a range of departures to Northern Irish towns and cities. Special fares will be priced from £6 for an adult Metro single ticket and are available for purchase from the driver, conductor or station staff on the day of travel.
Translink Group Chief Executive, Chris Conway, commented that the night-time economy played a vital role in boosting tourism, employment and connections, welcoming the “vital support” provided by the partnership.
The announcement has been welcomed by Alan Crowe, CEO of Belfast One, who believes it will encourage more people to see what the city has to offer.
