Ducati is set to bolster its dealer network by establishing a strategic collaboration with Vertu Motorcycles, affiliated with the broader Vertu Motors group, marking the motor retailer’s first dealership for the famed Italian motorcycle brand. The newly formed Vertu Motorcycles Ducati Sunderland outlet, located beside the Vertu Motors retail brand’s other retail centres at Boldon Business Park, will offer the complete range of Ducati and Scrambler Ducati motorcycles, in addition to relevant aftermarket accessories and apparel. The site will extend the Ducati Approved programme and offer professional expert servicing from experienced motorcycle technicians. To support the development, an existing building will undergo construction, consisting of two single-story extensions for additional parts storage and a bespoke motorcycle workshop with a purpose-built service reception area. Furthermore, nine full-time colleagues will be appointed by Vertu to underpin the new enterprise.
Vertu Motors plc’s maiden dedicated Ducati dealership, the new dealership joins Ducati’s global sales network, which has today become a leading global motorcycle brand with over 800 points of sale in over 90 countries. Chris Taylor, Vertu Motors plc’s Operations Director, stated that the company is thrilled to partner with Ducati to bring the internationally recognised elite motorcycle brand to Sunderland, opening the doors for the first time to an eagerly awaiting fan base. Moreover, he added that “We will soon be starting the recruitment process for colleagues to join the new centre. It will be a truly exciting addition for the motorcycle community in the area, and with Ducati and BMW Motorrad on the same site, it will provide a first-class ride to the destination.”
