Zoom Video Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZM) has unveiled its new London Engagement Hub, a transformative space that reflects the shift towards experiential working hubs and is supported by Zoom’s industry-leading technology.
The demand for hybrid and remote capabilities has led to unconventional ways of operating, and Zoom has responded by designing an office that embraces the changing nature of the employee experience, marking a new era of modern work.
Located in the heart of London’s Holborn, the 15,000 square foot space has been converted into a versatile hub with integrated Zoom technology. It will serve as a collaborative space for Zoom’s 200+ UK employees to exchange ideas and strategies, fostering a sense of community within the global Zoom network.
This move embodies Zoom’s workplace strategy, providing optimal working spaces for colleagues who reside near the office to come together in person on designated team days.
“We are witnessing a fundamental change in the world of modern work. Employers and employees alike have seen the advantages of a flexible approach and are eager to utilize technologies like Zoom to maintain them. This means communication will increasingly take place through various channels, and collaboration will transcend geographical boundaries,” explains Phil Perry, head of UK & Ireland at Zoom.
By dividing the space into different zones, Zoom’s London Engagement Hub offers 75 work points, ranging from library-style benches to collaboration-friendly agile tables, as well as traditional desks. All these facilities can be reserved through Zoom’s workspace reservation tool, providing employees with a seamless workday experience.
Furthermore, the office is fully equipped with tools, technologies, and workspaces that facilitate both human connection and digital engagement. The Engagement Hub features creative furniture, community areas, formal gathering spaces, and quiet corners for phone calls, all designed to encourage in-person connection and cooperation.
In early 2024, the Executive Briefing Centre (EBC) will open within the Engagement Hub. This state-of-the-art demonstration space will offer an immersive education experience for employees, prospects, and customers, aiming to drive business outcomes.
The design of the London Engagement Hub, along with the upcoming EBC, emphasizes Zoom’s comprehensive approach to sustainability beyond its carbon footprint. The office is LEED certified, symbolizing its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
By investing in this innovative space, Zoom demonstrates its dedication to optimizing the benefits of technology and flexible work, while recognizing the value of face-to-face interaction. This strategic move positions Zoom as a leader in supporting modern work dynamics and ensuring commercial success in attracting top talent.
