OakNorth, the neobank for entrepreneurs, has granted an additional £12.2m loan to SME housebuilder, honey, to partially finance the acquisition and development of two new major residential projects. Established in October 2022 by former Avant Homes CEO, Mark Mitchell, the company is supported by private equity firm, Alchemy Partners. Honey’s latest housing developments in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, and Maltby, South Yorkshire, will offer a total of 252 new homes for the region. The Maltby site, comprising 185 detached and semi-detached homes, including 46 affordable units, is located near Maltby’s town center. Honey’s new Huddersfield site will feature 67 detached and semi-detached homes, including 13 affordable units, situated in Fenay Bridge. Mark Mitchell, founder & CEO of honey, expressed his excitement about the progress of the business in just under 18 months, emphasizing the focus on creating modern, sustainable homes.
