Seaward, an electrical test and measurement company based in Peterlee, has recently hired five new apprentices to support its growth strategy and upskill its existing workforce.
The new apprentices—with specialties ranging from calibration and business development to operations—will undergo training throughout the business and at East Durham and Houghall Community College to gain experience in a broad range of areas. Seaward, which develops electronic test and measurement instruments for various sectors, currently employs 200 people and has an office in the US.
Wendy Chaplin, Seaward’s HR Business Partner, expressed excitement at the company’s investment in young local talent and its commitment to future growth. Chaplin believes that investment in top-quality talent is paramount to providing excellent products and services to customers.
Seaward is part of GMC Instrumentation Group, which consists of distinct specialist test equipment manufacturing companies located in the US, Switzerland and Germany.
