Womble Bond Dickinson, an international law firm, has announced promotions of nine senior members at their Newcastle office, including four managing associates and five associates. The real estate team has seen two new managing associates, Stephanie Mallery and Joanne Anderson, and two new associates, Conor Wells and Keith Scott. Stephanie is a specialist in property investments, specifically advising clients on the purchase and financing of large single family rental portfolios, and advising developer clients on land acquisitions and disposals. Joanne has expertise in property-related funding work, and represents varying regional and national lenders on development finance, funding and acquisition of commercial property portfolios, educational facilities and social housing schemes. Conor advises both public and private sector clients on property-related matters, while Keith focuses on real estate investment acting as pension trustees for both SIPP and SSAS pension schemes, dealing with acquisition, disposal and management of commercial property.
In the corporate and commercial team, there are three newly promoted associates, Alex Kirtley, Becky Brook and Michael Wells. Alex specializes in insolvency practices, while Becky focuses on business disposals, acquisitions, group reorganizations, private equity investments and shareholders agreements. Michael has expertise in supporting and advising clients working in the transport sector, particularly in the rail sector.
Sally Cooper in the charities team and Emma Welch in the dispute resolution team are promoted to managing associate. Sally specializes in charity law and governance, and advises on governance and constitutional matters, contractual and operational matters, and charity incorporation and restructuring. Emma advises clients on commercial and contractual disputes, particularly technology-related contracts and procurement matters. Emma also helps to lead the women’s network, WBD Thrive, which focuses on promoting gender diversity.
