Simoda Technology Solutions, a Sheffield-based company which provides cloud services and IT solutions, plans to create up to 50 new jobs in the next two years after moving to a new site at Kelham Island. The 6,500 sq ft site on Burton Road, which is nearly three times the size of the firm’s current office at Eagle Works, was acquired with the support of property law solicitor Mason Thomas Law. The company aims to establish a training academy on the building’s second floor, which will train 18 to 22-year-olds hoping to enter the technology industry. Simoda is expected to be fully operational at the new site by the end of October.
Managing Director of Simoda, Daniel Bumby, commented on the move stating “it offers everything we need to enable us to continue to grow and attract future employees, from car parking to bars and restaurants for after work socialising and team building”. The focus of the expansion is to “expand our business, create even more jobs and continue to provide a fantastic service to our customers.”
As of 2019, the company has grown year-on-year after being established by co-founders, Daniel Bumby and Jason Garner. Before the move, the firm employed 35 people. As indicated by Cathy Thomas, solicitor and managing director of Mason Thomas Law, the company has experienced phenomenal growth, and she feels honoured to have played a small part in it. Simoda and Mason Thomas Law maintain a good relationship, exemplifying a model focus on vendor and supplier relationships.
Simoda is taking a thoughtful approach to its growth as it seeks to build upon its reputation as an innovative technology firm. By investing in the training of young professionals, the company looks set to build on its current success, create new job opportunities and continue to provide an exceptional service to its customers.
