As part of its plan to grow in the South West, a planning firm in the Midlands is creating an architecture team in Bristol. This is part of the firm’s plan to offer more services and cover more ground.
Marrons Planning is changing its name to Marrons to reflect the fact that it is offering more services.
Tom Macklen, a director of architecture, Will Thomas, a senior architect, and Isabelle Firkins, an architectural assistant, have joined the Bristol team. The office will grow in the New Year to meet client needs.
The team has more than 20 years of combined experience in the property and construction industry across the UK. They have worked at the multi-disciplinary firm Barton Willmore in the past.
“We’re thrilled to be joining Marrons and to have been given a unique opportunity to grow an architecture team that provides the best of worlds – creating a nurturing design studio atmosphere paired with the supportive environment offered by an established, multi-disciplinary planning practice,” said Macklen.
“Being able to provide a combined service in-house presents a number of unique benefits for our clients, creating a more streamlined and coordinated offer.”
Marrons, which is part of legal and professional services group Ampa, has grown significantly in the past financial year and maintains ambitions to “broaden its geography and service offering” in the coming months.
Its plans and rebrand follow Ampa announcing a merger between Bristol-based GL Law and its national life and business firm Shakespeare Martineau.
Head of Marrons Brian Mullin said: “We are very proud that Ampa has merged with GL Law and our new architecture team joining as part of Marrons is a fitting complement to that south western growth.
“Tom and his team have forged a strong reputation for high-quality design in the South West. The energy and creativity within the team is allied with a clear focus on delivering the highest quality design and service across development sectors and for a wide range of clients.”
