A company that finds jobs for people in manufacturing and engineering says that its new office is off to a good start.
Luke Bell and Sam Wilkinson started Metalis in Sheffield four years ago to help manufacturers and engineering businesses in the city find the right staff.
The company said earlier this year that its second office would be in Coventry. It has now moved into the Business Innovation Centre at the University of Warwick Science Park in Binley.
Branch operations manager Jake Crowley is in charge of the office. Since Metalis moved into the city, it has already hired three consultants.
The company plans to use the same strategy as the Sheffield branch, which went from having four employees to having 25 in just four years.
Jake Crowley said, “The West Midlands was a natural choice, and with everything going on in Coventry, this was the perfect place.” There are a lot of great manufacturing and engineering companies in the area, including some of the most well-known names in the world and a lot of small and medium-sized companies in the supply chain.
“The Business Innovation Centre was just what we needed. It’s in an ideal location, the offices are high-quality and it gives us an opportunity to grow the team here. It’s also a hub for other businesses and organisations in our sector and, once we’ve been here for a few weeks, I can see real opportunities in building a network and working with some of the companies on site.
“We have really hit the ground running and can see lots of opportunities where businesses are recruiting. It is still very much a candidates’ market, especially in our area of work that is providing skilled labour into the industry.”
